“Sacred Graffiti” was an idea that had been rattling around in my head. I knew how I was going to compose it but was just distracted by other things. I wanted to have an underlying sparse bass part with some modern sounding electronic drum sounds that grooved along while things happened along the way. I was staying at Bassist/Composer/Bass Builder Chris Cardone’s home which conveniently had a Pro Tools HD studio. There we built up each track first the drums, then the bass and later the other Textures. I sang the melodic phrase to Chris and he played it on the Synth. Later I had Mark Isham come in to double the melody’s opening phrase then improvise through out the piece.
